Oh, that’s ALL we need, is Lieberman on McCain’s ticket…
Bloomberg reported today that McCain is considering putting Joe Lieberman on his ticket as vice-president.
To be perfectly blunt, the Jews need Lieberman in government like they need two frikkin’ bullets in the head.
Now, my personal distaste for the man arose during the Clinton/Lewinsky fiasco. Lieberman, purportedly a Jew of the Sabbath keeping extraction (that’s דוס for any Israeli reading this), decided to take it upon himself to take a megaphone on the Sabbath, completely forbidden, and denounce the evil and licentious acts of former president Clinton (who has so much Jewish blood on his hands it’s mind-boggling to even think about it, because of his pompous peace deal um.mm…horsepucky).
I forgot where I read this - it was likely in the New York Post, but when confronted with statements along the lines of “Hey? What are you doing? You’re breaking Shabbos!” he answered, “The pursuit of justice came before Shabbos in this case.” Or something like that. I have to Google it… will later.
In any case, even in that CNN article I linked you to above, they mention that he votes on Shabbos in the Senate because it’s pikuach nefesh, threat to life. That I find humorous, specifically because there are hundreds of things passing through Senate that have absolutely nothing to do with pikuach nefesh (more like pikuach wallet of the guys who are voting on it) so it’s like, he’s taking the laws and keeping them as long as it doesn’t disrupt his comfort level.
That’s just a synopsis of his religious character. The man himself. Tomorrow I will get more into the reasons why I feel it would put the American Jewish community into severe danger would Lieberman set foot into the Vice President’s office….
