Orange Cellphone Company - It’s Time to Fight!!

I hate them.

The Orange Cellphone company is the worst phone company ever.

Let’s not even get into the fact that I had to spend hours at Orange technical support because of the junky Alpha P8 phone that I bought (because it was Israeli haha) that was hands down the phone of lowest quality I ever used.

Or the fact that some of the customer service representatives (not all) are so lazy and unhelpful they refuse even to write one line down in the customer service records when asked).

Orange has constantly had to write me checks or credit me for money that they had no right to take from me.

I’ve had the same problem with my SIM chip for over two years:  for some reason, they tell me (even when I am in chul or don’t have the chip in a working phone) that I am making calls, and hence charging me.  Not once, but twice did they tell me that when I was in the States (which I can prove by papers) I made a ten minute call on Shabbos from both lines at the same time.  They never fixed the problem, but they charged it to me, and then after fighting with them for hours, and going down there, and wasting time, they gave me the money back, but only after making me out to be like I was lying to them.

I switched one of my lines to Cellcom but I still have one that’s not in a working phone, and they are still taking money from me!   Not only is the chip not in a working phone (surprise surprise the Alpha P8 just up and died back in January 2008), the plan I have wouldn’t allow me to make calls for the amount they are requesting from me!   If I have a plan that makes me pay one agurah a minute, how would I have been able to make a call for a minute and a half that cost 15 agurot?  This has been going on for more than two years.

Supposedly I am making calls from one of my phones to another.  The manager today told me that she will send me a detailed example of those calls and said that it must be that I made those calls at a time 1. that I was in America and making those calls would have cost me a fortune 2. that someone else must be making them (neat trick considering I only have one working phone always with me) and 3. she didn’t even take the time to look at my CS record (which likely isn’t even being updated correctly) to show that in fact, customer service representatives in the past showed me those calls already and have already admitted to me there is a technical issue WHICH THEY HAVE NOT YET BOTHERED TO FIX!!!

I have begged them time and time again to fix it and have spent hours on the phone.

Recently, they tell me that I still have to pay a bill that my bank shows they already took the money for.  And then they expect me to go running around trying to find the information.  The manager who was supposed to call me within 24 hrs called me back a little under a week later (if not a week later, I forget already) and told me I have to go fax it, that I should go to find a place, and that she cannot send me any e-mail (I asked her to e-mail me the fax number). Cellcom is great, Cellcom e-mails people.

I am waiting for Orange to waste their money on legal fees by taking me to court for nonpayment so that I can bring all of the papers I have saved over the years, all of the bills, showing each time they had to return money to me and how many times they have made mistakes and show them just how much Orange has wasted my time and my money.   And of course, the fact that I paid their freaking bill as well.  And it will all be on their tab.  I can’t wait!

They don’t even let me into the system anymore to look at my past bills, because I switched one line and they can’t figure out that I have two lines on the same bill.  They also told me that it costs money to get my bill sent to me in paper, which Cellcom just told me is illegal - I am entitled to get my bill on paper without payment.  But it’s just another way Orange takes advantage of people.  They really force people to have their bill in e-mail because it saves them money, and because they can lock the person out when they want to!  EVERYONE, GET YOUR BILLS IN PAPER!!!

I am posting this here on a public forum so I can get the word out about Orange.  I am waiting for them to take me to court, and hopefully I will find more people with stories about their abysmal customer service, so that when they take me to court to pay the bill, I will be able to 1. have more people there to support my counterclaim and 2. will have a great collection of information as to their illegal and harrassing practices.

    This is all so familiar.
I have waxed lyrical about my own disgust with the lack of service I have received from these credit card gougers. Their sales staff are well mannered and hide behind the standard excuse no. 1 - it’s company policy and we are not able to do that sir.

    Good luck.

I came to your website after seeing a forum post of yours that told us of your exceptional writing skills, and that you are “special”.

I wanted to check out your writing and this is the first article of yours that I clicked.

The second paragraph had some dreadful writing (#1 below), the third paragraph had some terrible punctuation, (#2 below), closing prentheses even though there was no opening parentheses and to make it even worse, you have a space before the period.

I decided that I’d seen enough.
You are not a good writer, however, you may or may not be “special”!

I assume that you’ll delete this response but I had to write it anyway.

with all due respect, this was never intended as a sample piece of my writing. It was a rant. You just found it while you were looking through metalisrael.com. You should have looked at the pieces that were published in the Jerusalem Post or Lifestyles Magazine, as well as some of the CD reviews. You haven’t even seen a stitch of what I can do professionally, but unfortunately, you chose to come onto this blog and insult me instead anonymously. That doesn’t say much for your character, but I guess everyone has to get their agita out somehow.
